Special Jobs: Dialogue Session for Jobseekers with Disabilities
Specialjobs.com.my, the first free online job portal catering solely to the special needs community and a by-product of Agensi Pekerjaan Jobsbac Sdn Bhd (a wholly owned subsidiary of BAC Education Group) hosted a dialogue session for jobseekers with disabilities (JwDs) towards creating an inclusive workforce in Malaysia.
This would be the first session post-MCO and was conducted with the adherence to the relevant SOPs and social distancing requirements. The session was conducted on 1st October 2020 at the PJ Campus, Brickfields Asia College. The session was not only attended by enthusiastic JwDs and parents/guardians of PWDs and NGOs dealing with PWDs who were keen to learn more about seeking suitable employment for PWDs but also by equal opportunity employers.
Brian Lariche, Head of the Make It Right Movement (MIRM) moderated the event. Key takeaways from the session include some guidelines by Mr Brian to assist JwDs in understanding the expectations of potential employers and some basic pointers to mitigate concerns faced by employers who hire PWDs.
Specialjobs.com.my was launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia, to connect employers with jobseekers living with disabilities by securing the right talent at no cost. The job portal also seeks to promote inclusive employment in Malaysia in line with the objectives of the Government.
